Sadly, breast cancer stands among the most common diseases of our times, and many women go through the crucial and very painful journey to battle it. Breast reconstruction refers to the process of rebuilding the breast in the survivors of breast cancer. The main breast reconstruction options include breast implants, flap reconstruction, and fat grafting. Out of these, breast implants and flap reconstruction were most commonly used, fat grafting was used to correct the contour anomalies only, but in recent years, fat grafting, also known as autologous fat transfer, is emerging successfully as a breast reconstruction technique.
